Our company at the end of 2019 realized that BofA was not able to help with business loans or credit since we are a small business. I opened up a City National Bank personal and Business Acc in 2019 and have been very impressed with the Ontario, Ca branch. They are very friendly and know me by name even though I don't come in often. In April 2020, I applied for a PPP SBA loan and in less than a month it was approved and founded! My Personal contact Juan guided me through the process, returned all my emails in hours, and is always fantastic to speak with. He even called me to tell me my loan was funded. I can't say how appreciative I am for his service and CNB! Some of my other small business friends at larger retail banks are still not approved with the SBA loan I received. Thank you again so much City National Bank! I am staying with you for life!
City National Bank used to be an excellent bank, however since the take over/merger with The Royal Bank of Canada (2015 I believe), the bank has gone from hero to zero. The customer Service which used to be impeccable has reached the bottom of the barrel. The charges per month, (which you were happy to pay due to the service), are now none existent, you can't get a hold of anybody and nobody calls you back. If you question anything, they blame it on the customer. The bank is an absolute joke, to say the least. What was a relationship built on trust and integrity is now nothing but a dwindling one sided squeeze. Put your money elsewhere like many others are doing.
I was lucky that I was not a customer of this worst bank. I was just a member of the so-called "City National Advisory Board" from November 28, 2020 up until I was kicked out unexpectedly without a proper explanation. What this Board does is testing some new ideas/concepts that CNB will serve its customers. This is not the first Board I was invited. I remembered I was a member of Citi Bank Advisory Board for almost 5 years. Each month, their reward for each member, besides any contests, were $50. On the contrast, CNB Advisory Board only rewarded $15/month for its member. And when Citi Bank decided to close the Board, they informed each member at least two month in advance and by the end of the closing date, they rewarded each member $200. This CNB was not even compared to how generous and professional Citi Bank was. They cut members at any time without notice and/or explanation. Even worst, when it was time to redeem monthly reward, it was when they cut member(s). How dirty it was! $15 monthly reward is not that big compared to my 7-figure yearly salary, except for the fact that I did this to kill my boredoms and at the same time to earn some monies for my designated charity. I was not their official customer and they treated me that bad. So, I complete understand how they treat their real customers. Obviously what I and other members did in the Advisory Board did not translate well on how they really treat their real customers days in days out. I did not know if this is a racial thing or not as I am an Asian-American and more importantly a disabled U.S. Army veteran of OIF and OEF eras, but what they did was unprofessional and unacceptable. CNB, let put your shoes into mine (and many other members'), how would you feel when you were cut off unexpectedly without proper explanation? I have tried to send emails to help desk and even to Support for CNB Advisory Board members, but to no avail. They kept their silence and hurtful act. If you keep serving your customers that worst like this, sooner or later, you will go bankruptcy. If you read this review, please do not do business with CNB. Please find better bank or a local credit union where they treat you with great respect and professionalism. Many thanks.
400 N. Roxbury in Beverly Hills, is geared to customer comfort. First, there is a Drive-Thru window! How wonderful that is anytime but especially on a cold, rainy day. Next there is a convenient, above-ground parking lot that is easy in and out. Next, there is a doorman to open the door for you from the parking lot into the bank building. Next, the interior banking area is spacious - no worries about social distancing there. Lastly, the employees are friendly, competent, and happy to help you. A+ for City National Bank.
Their customer service is really top-notch. You can always get someone on the phone and they are very helpful and knowledgeable. This has been critical to business especially during the pandemic with all the additional challenges that small businesses have had. They are the perfect balance of a small "local" bank with personalized service but big enough to handle your business needs.
