Horrible Customer Service

They have horrible customer service. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH HSBC! YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Loyal Customer

I have been a loyal customer at this bank for over 12 years and happy with the services they provided. There was an issue with fraud with my bank card. A person had stolen my bank number and used it to make several purchases. The purchases added to well over $500. I was on the phone with customer to resolve the issue, which took no more than 10 minutes. The customer service representative understood the situation and had no problems crediting me the entire amount that was illegally charged. The representative understood the situation and had no problems resolving the issue. He had asked the right questions to assess the situation and appeared to be just as concern as I was. He made me feel that he actually cared about the situation and made sure the issue was resolved. He exhibited so signs of impatience or negativity. I did not feel like I had to jump through several hurdles to resolve the issue. I felt that he went above and beyond than what he was required to do to help me feel safe banking with HSBC. From the experience with the representative, I would not hesitate ever to call customer service with any questions or issues. Within a week, a new bank card was provided to me and had no problems since. Thank you so much HSBC!

HSBC Online Savings account works like it should.

I use HSBC for an online savings account. I primarily chose HSBC because they were paying a higher interest rate than my local bank was. I have used the account to hold money for other purchases I may or may not have during the year when I need quick access to money. I have not had very many problems with deposits, though most of my deposits are just transfers from one bank to another and these are initiated entirely online. I have only had to contact customer service once when a deposit did not show up as scheduled, and the email system they have in place worked fine to get this corrected in a day or two. I would recommend this bank to anyone looking for a no frills online savings account.

Worst Checking Account Offer You'll Find?

Listen to their "Premier" checking account features: $0 OD fee, $0 NSF fee, $0 ATM fee, $0 Wire Transfer Fees, Unlimited ATM reimbursements... Sounds good, right? Nope. There is a $50 monthly maintenance fee that can only be avoided by maintaining a $100,000 balance at the bank. I hate that banks throw around terms like "Premier" and offer great features but have HUGE "gotchas" in the fine print. No thanks. I think I'll stick with Ally.

HSBC Not My Cup Of Tea

Had an hsbc direct account years back checking and savings, they were good back 10+ years ago but they begin to lower apy drastically. I think they were a teaser rate than once they got enough customers than they lowered it. I wasn't too happy about that, I did extensive research too but hey we make mistakes. I eventaully closed my both of my accounts and customer service was good. I never had issues with ACH transfer limits, I'm not even sure what it was before but it never affected me.

Dans la mesure ou vous déposer plus de 150.000€ en banque vous avez droit a un traitement poli chez HSBC France , spécialement à l'agence de Versailles . A partir du moment ou vous avez un accident de la vie et vous êtes en longues maladie , vous pouvez oublier la courtoisie , l'education mais on vous traite comme un moins que rien , parce que vous recevez vos fonds ( à l'identique mais décalé ) par rapport a votre standing de vie . Un plaisir de vous rabaisser et rejeté les prélèvements . Bloquer vos cartes et encours , virements meme si vous avez des fonds sur votre compte qui couvre le virement. Etre hors la loi n'a jamais effrayé cette banque .Le jeu de rejeter toute opération rapporte bien entendu 20€ a cette dernière à chaque transaction . Très bientôt je vais recevoir une entrée d'argent conséquente , à titre personnelle J'EVITERAI de les déposer dans cette banque .

If You Want To Be Dismiss And Not Respected

I had to meet with representative in regards to a late relative's account. So time and date was set, or so I thought.... the person i was meeting decided to go out for lunch at the time i was meeting with her. At least the company called her back. We meet and told her I wasnt happy she left for lunch. Her response.... I am here and only 7mins late and then we argue on about it until I had to drop it because she refused to acknowledge she was rude. The good thing is at least when I left she had to meet two other people that was waiting for her. I hope she starved that day

Poor Treatment Of Existing Customers

We've been HSBC customers for many years. I checked recently to see if my interest rate went up and I was still at 0.3%. They advertise 3% but keep their existing customers at 0.3%. In my opinion, they are stealing from a lot of seniors who don't know to check. In my opinion, they have terrible unethical business practices. Then they have a Premier Account that is higher but requires numerous additional silly conditions to be met monthly or you go back to near zero. This is about the worst bank I have ever encountered.

HSBC Stuck In Stone Age

I have accounts with BofA, Citi and an online bank and HSBC is by far the worst. Customer service repts in the Philipines are very polite and professional, but passive-aggressive and have no authority to get any work done on the account. Most of the HSBC branches near me have closed and I expect many more as every other bank I've come across has figured out how to operate a retail bank. I'm constantly barraged with people claiming to be my Relationship Manger all the while my account was being pillaged by overdraft "protection". Mortgage rates are among the highest.

HSBC Is A Predatory Bank...Their Mission Is To Suck As Much Money As They Can, In Whatever Way They Can

Dealing with the bank is awful. They're a foreign bank whose mission is predatory siphoning off of your money for ridiculous reasons and then making up lame excuses. They'll charge a LATE FEE AFTER you've made a payment. I really hate dealing with companies that operate like this one, Don't bother. FIND ANOTHER BANK...it'll save your peace of mind.

HSBC Will Waste Your Time, Endlessly.

Seriously, never bank with HSBC. I have a couple dozen credit cards, never had a meaningful issue with any of them. Nothing but issues with HSBC as they find all transaction to be suspicious (like toothpaste from the grocery store), and they will require you go into their branch to repeatedly prove you made the charge. Their ineptness would be comedic if their branch wasn't 50 miles away, they are an endless waste of time. And telephone customer service is not only incompetent (they often say they can't verify customers identity by phone, even after the customer passes all their identity confirmation questions), but also shockingly rude. There's a reason their average rating on customer review website's is dismal, they are truly awful.
